90 Chantelle Air

Notice of clarification from Chantelle Air:

I’m really happy to be joining the Solent Amazons for the 2026/27 season and looking forward to another year of doing what I love.

After what was an incredibly difficult year, I’m also pleased that we’ve been able to get to the bottom of how last year’s situation originated, and those responsible. I wanted to take the opportunity to clear up some confusion and reassure those who have reached out with concern for my welfare/safety.

I am an active player for the Solent Amazons, I have registered with IHUK, and have met all policy and eligibility requirements set by the governing body. My playing status has never been removed, suspended or banned by the club, England Ice Hockey or Ice Hockey UK, this press coverage was false.

Last season, I temporarily removed myself from the public roster page on our website. I did this solely as a safety precaution, following unwanted attention and invasions of my privacy online by trolls and bots.

This was my decision and mine alone. It was not the result of any action taken by the club or the league.

Unfortunately, this led to rumours and false accusations circulating on social media. I want to make it absolutely clear that these claims were not official, were not true, and did not reflect any formal finding or disciplinary action against me within the sport.

Ice hockey is a sport built on teamwork, respect and integrity, and I think it’s important that we remember those values should extend beyond the ice. Every player deserves to be treated fairly, with dignity and respect.

I sincerely hope that no other player has to experience the unnecessary scrutiny and intrusion into their personal life that I have experienced over the past year.

Throughout everything, I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has shown me kindness.

I’m looking forward to putting this chapter behind me and getting back to what matters most: enjoying my hockey safely, with friends, supporting my teammates and representing the Amazons for another season.
